Everybody (i.e., ELFs from around the globe) has been talking about the big event: Super Junior’s 2nd Asia Tour. It started in Korea last July; continued in countries such as China, Thailand and will have its final stop in Taiwan on February.

Being a Super Junior fan for almost two years, I have had dreams and hoped to see them in person even if it would only happen once. My liking started with Cho Kyu Hyun, the youngest of the group. Since, that time, Taiwan’s F4 Vic Zhou was popular in the Philippines; I saw similarities between the two guys, physically speaking. Fandom and thesis before was like oil and water – really, no matter how hard I tried to combine and “enjoy” them together, I couldn’t. School won. Months after, February 2008, I went online and started on with my Kyuhyun/Super Junior fandom on my own.

Super Junior boomed to the scene after their release of Sorry Sorry – who would have expected a bunch of young, verrrrry good-looking (but a bit slender) guys to transform into gorgeous, sexy hot men? My former small hopes instantly became serious desires to see them LIVE! Thus it was decided last October that my friends and I watch the Super Show 2 live in Thailand, November 28th! My friend went thru a lot just to get us tickets to the show – contacting Thai ELFs and fellow Filipino ELFs… Luckily both connections helped us fulfill our greatest dream!

Weeks before the event, I received a phone call from one of my friends that the Thai ELF was only able to get us 800baht tickets – I felt really down… my friends could no longer hold their laughter — it was just a prank and surprisingly, we got the 4,500baht-worth seats!!!

On the night of our flight, I wasn’t sure as to what I was excited for: my first trip to Thailand or seeing Super Junior live? All I had in mind was that there was something great in store for me in that country!

FASTFORWARD

Before the concert we:

  • Had a breakfast buffet
  • Converted money to Baht
  • Met fellow Filipino ELF for our SS2 tickets
  • Took the train to Mochit, cab to the Impact Arena
  • Looked around and STRUGGLED to find where the official concert goods were sold – nobody could understand English! We were able to speak to Japanese ELFs instead, haha! Thank God for JE fandom. It felt like Lee Hyuk Jae finding his way in France!
  • Gave the McDonald’s crew a major nosebleed in taking our order
  • Ate our 10-pc Nuggets meal with large fries and coke on our feet, yes, standing.
  • Bought OFFICIAL (and unofficial) CON GOODS! Shirts, flags, light sticks, bag, etc.
  • Stayed at SB (where there were fan-girl Moms in shirts that say “I ♥ SJ”, later changed into the official shirts we bought
  • Took pictures with Yamaha Fino SJ cardboards
  • Stood in line….
  • Entered through GATE 13! Destiny!

We never knew how lucky we were until we arrived at the arena… We never imagined how close we could get.

  • Took our seats and waited patiently for the show to start. The venue was filling up until you could already see the very beautiful sapphire blue sea.

SOME CONCERT HIGHLIGHTS (because everybody knows about the previous concert already)

  • Opening was a blast, everyone was screaming. ELFs were so focused on the big screen that we were all surprised by SJ’s entrance!
  • Ryeowook came out from behind our seats – inches away! Thank God we were near the aisle. He had a thick make-up on. The crowd roared – SJ members came out from everywhere!!!
  • Shindong trying to open Kyuhyun’s pants!
  • Kyuhyun’s intro was extremely smexy; Hyukjae wiped his neck and chest with a towel and threw it to fans; Leeteuk humiliated himself on the floor. :) )
  • Fan chants “(SJ member’s name) Saranhaeyo (SJ member’s name)” + LT and EH chanting for themselves
  • Don’t Don – still the hottest + HanChul action
  • Donghae’s Solo w/ Eunhyuk
  • Eunhyuk’s veins on big screen
  • Kyuhyun’s English in Puff the Magic Dragon + Heechul as Puff – funniest!
  • SJ-M’s Super Girl was awesome, Henry’s really working the shades!
  • Gee – Shindong took off Siwon’s white top – Siwon wore a smaller white shirt after
  • Kyuhyun took a fan’s cellphone and took a picture of himself
  • Siwon asked if one fan and my friend were alright. They almost fell off the bleechers
  • Hyuk came up the stairs ALMOST up to where we were seated, but… you know why he was dragged back down to the stage. Kyuhyun was on the other side, to my left, reached the top of the stairs, lucky fans *cries*
  • Hyuk came back firing his water gun at us! We got wet
  • SJ singing Marry U meters away from you
  • Kyuhyun threw a fake flower which he must’ve gotten on the floor from a fan… and threw it up to where we were… only I didn’t get to catch it… the 4th girl to my left did. TT___TT
  • Yesung was the last to leave the stage.

In as much as we wanted to head to where the boys are staying thru the night, we didn’t push through since traffic was already heavy outside and it was already late. Seeing them was unbelievable. It felt surreal. It was the best night of my life (as a fan-girl, as an ELF) so far. Everything we worked hard for all paid off. Super Show 2 was an early Christmas gift for us (and an early birthday gift, for my BFF).

The next day all that was left for us to do was to shop and buy stuff for our relatives back home in the Philippines. We bought fan-made goodies like cellphone charms, mousepads, etc. and 12 Plus goodies too!

Before we took our flight back home, we had the same flight (time) with SJ-M. For the remaining members, theirs were earlier than ours. We had everything ready for autograph signing but… we didn’t get to see them for the very last time. But we were still glad the weekend happened.

Until then… Super Junior, Saranghae!
Will be waiting for Super Show 3!!!

The Library

Spin’s First time in a Comedy Bar

August 20, 2009 9:30 PM on a Friday night, I went out with my office-mates to celebrate Red’s birthday.

Okay, so I’ve always thought that comedy bars are scary and not a place for people who are overly sensitive and couldn’t take jokes seriously. Having this in mind, I honestly felt jittery and my hands became cold as I thought about what might happen inside the bar. As much as I wanted to go out with my officemates, I was thinking that the performers might pick on me and that I won’t be able to take whatever jokes they throw on me. I wanted to just go home. But since I am not a quitter, I bravely said “Yes, I’m going!”

An officemate advised us not to sit at the back part since the performers know that it’s a way to “hide” from them. But it’s also scary to sit up front, near the stage, or the sides, anywhere, I thought, was scary! HAHA! I can handle gays like they’re my girls but, it really felt different.

Inside The Library.

Upon entrance, you will see a bookshelf, of course with lotsa books. LOL anyway, we positioned ourselves near the DJ. It wasn’t really at the back part but there weren’t any space left for people to sit behind us. It was the Thursday Group’s show and I was actually excited and anxious to see what’s gonna happen next.

The performers of the night were:
Echo
Dan-Dan
Francis One word: Sayang
Gie – VERY VERY WITTY AND SMART plus she’s so pretty and charismatic
Hannah
Jerome
Mariko can speak Nihonggo and has the body of a girl!!! So freakin’ sexy, I tell you.
Neurie the Tarsier
Paolo
The Raging Divas

So the show began with Lady Gaga’s Poker Face. My heart kept on thumping really hard. I was still very nervous that time. Right after the song, they started by telling us to order more food, else the aircon will be shut down and our tables will automatically fold up itself. Also, there should be a representative from your table who shall come up the stage and sing a song or two.  So as hours passed, lotsa guests went up the stage and all. A group of FEU students who had “cute” guys, two of them being pulled/dragged to the stage by Jerome and Paolo, made us really laugh so hard. One guest was proven to be gay, another, a lesbian. Haha

It was really fun. There was a showdown between Neurie and Echo – singing and dancing showdown, my goodness t was the most hilarious thing! Neurie fell off the stairs! Then all the performers, except for the 2 women among them had a Pageant:  Swimwear and that part where they say a line and everybody bursts out laughing.  Gahd, Mariko has the most beautiful body yet Neurie ended up winning, it was weird. Haha!

Before we left, they actually performed the Wonder Girl’s Nobody.

Generally it was a very fun Friday night for me. I was safe, or maybe because  the Thursday group wasn’t that scary at all. LOL I know they’re also humans, why would I get scared right?

Maybe you should try comedy bars too! Just to end a long, tiring week from work. ^__^

Back Ride

Spin’s First Motorbike Ride

Last Thursday, my officemate offered me a free less-than-two-minute-ride from the office to the LRT Station (Quirino) — he wanted to return the favors I’ve done for his kid’s homework, LOL.

Since ’twas my first, I had no idea how I was supposed to “ride” it. Being the gay that I am, I sat like this

Well, this one’s exaggerated.

My hands were so cold and I had to hold tight on my officemate’s shoulders because I felt like he was swerving. Although we didn’t wear helmets that night, accepting the offer saved me 20Php that night.

Rough Day

Spin’s First Sign of  “Strength” or… You tell me.

Today I did not give history a big chance to repeat itself…

To give everyone an idea, I’ll tell you something about the first time that I was rushed to the emergency room when I could hardly breathe due to allergies. That week there was something wrong with my stomach, as it had been hurting for almost a week. The doctor whom my Aunt and Mom knew gave me two medicines to take. I could only remember Eldicet. Thanks to Eldicet, I had difficulty in breathing and had red spots covering my whole body. It also led me to my first IV insertion.

I’ve been boasting but to myself and my Mom that for 23 years, I haven’t had that huge needle inserted in my healthiest vein. If only I or the doctor had known that I was allergic to Eldicet… Ah~ oh well, there’s always a first time.

That, if I had to write it on a slumbook, would be my Most Unforgettable Experience.

Two months and a couple of days after that incident, I, again experienced the same thing. This morning I ate a piece of ready-to-cook(?) puto. Afterwards, my lips started to feel warm and a bit itchy on the sides. I looked at the mirror and found tiny bumps already. I thought they’d soon cease so I continued on chatting with Neko, complaining that I felt guilty for being idle on a Monday morning. Later on, my ears and throat became itchy. Minutes passed and I felt warmer… The other artist even teased me by saying, “Baka ibang init na yan!” Burn, you pervert.

Assuming you already know how everything turned out, I was shocked when I gave my Mom a call. I was just going to tell her that this happened again… I found out that she too couldn’t breathe! Her voice sounded hoarse and she kept on coughing. She too, had allergies almost covering her body — exactly what happened to me 2 months ago! Since we were in the same situation, she told me to rush to the hospital again as she would too. I said I ate sugar and that I can endure this. I really had my mind set that I won’t have another IV ever again! And I can’t spend another 4k, oh please.

I told Neko that I was going home, but, Madame Marketing had loads of things lined up for me to do so… You know.

I ate 3-packets of sugar, vommited twice, and  felt nauseous, yet I endured them all.

So, what would you call this? Spin’s First Act of….. ?

August’s First Monday

Spin’s First Attended Company Exhibit

August 3, FIRST Monday.

Today I was able to mount two 18″x24″-stickers on two same sized sintra boards on my own, for the record! After printing the design on the sticker, I actually sent a signal to the other artist to help me mount it (I was afraid I might fail). But since he hesitated, I forced myself into doing it, I had no choice.  Surprising enough, it was but a success.

By 5 PM, we made our way to the exhibit: A Celebration of the 30 Years of the company in the industry.

Free food and drinks! Even if you’re just a by-stander or a passer-by, you’ll still be able to try our pica-picas – Spinach-Feta Cheese Empanadas, Chicharon and Adobo Buns! The drinks served were Red Wine, Mojito, Chocolate Ah! and Iced Tea for the wholesome people.

After the event I headed straight to Breadtalk and bought a Blueberry and Cheese bun. It looked yummy so I thought I should give it a try.

See? I made a lotta firsts today! ^__^

Big Mac

Spin’s First Big Mac

Funny how I had just my first Big Mac last July 9. (Fail much? LMAO!) I never ordered it (ever!) at McDonald’s as I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish a burger that big, that I’ll just waste my money if I leave parts of it on my tray.

If it weren’t for my office mates, I still would have been a Big Mac virgin up to this point. If only I knew just how average or normal-sized it really is… The pictures tricked me.

I would have savoured it for years… those beefy burger patties. It’s like having the lettuce and mayo of McChicken sandwich and the burger patty of a Cheeseburger in one. I looooved it!!!

Now that’s why McDonalds is Image and video hosting by TinyPicOUR PLACE TO BE! :D

Ice Cream

Spin’s First Choo Choo Train with Lelelove

After satisfying ourselves with Pizza cones, we made our way to Nestle’s The Creamery. I had this banana split-like order, while Neko ordered this marble ice cream and Annama with her Tiramisu cup. (Please anticipate Lelelove ’s entry for this)

This was my first visit to the Creamery for this year, 2009. Ah, it has been months since our my last visit.

Vanilla, Chocolate and Mango Ice Cream with slices of Bananas smothered with whipped cream, drizzled with Choco syrup, topped with two sweet cherries

Aaah, it was sooo delicious yet it was fattening – that’s a fact – but I felt like a kid again – enjoying her ice cream.

P.S.

I left the whipped cream on my plate.

Do not eat it, it’s unhealthy. Haha ^_^

Pizza Cones

Spin’s First Pizza Cone

A Lelelove pimp post! :D

Yesterday was my first time to visit the convent where its nuns wear pink habits. After saying our prayers, we made our way to a small pizza parlor called, Amazing Cones. The quick, eagle-eyed Annama discovered it and is responsible for another Lelelove-worthy experience.

Please visit Leleloves Amazing Cones for full yummy details

It was my our first time to eat pizza shaped like a cone! It’s as if you’re eating ice cream, but instead of licking cold yummy flavored dairy stuff, you’re munching on good chewy, meaty stuff! Very delicious, you should pay a visit!

You won’t feel stuffed even if you eat 2 mini-sized cones and a big one, yet it’ll leave you with smiles on your faces, just like ours:

Dinner after Work

Spin’s First Dinner with her Colleagues

I have been working for the company for a year and 2 months, yet the people I am chummy with are less than my fingers. The other night, as I was waiting for my ride home, I found these people from the Accounting, HRD and Audit departments all gathered outside the restaurant. Some greeted, some just gave me glances. To my right was the person, whom I’d have small talks with in the lav. She was the person responsible for this. Three more people came out. The newcomer, since, obviously she’s new and I’m… a year new too, insisted that I tag along. I hesitated quite a number of times but how could someone with a small bone structure battle with 4 hands tightly gripping on both my arms? Everyone looked at me, which made me think if joining them was a good idea.

Dragged into the cab, thus we went our way to Greenbelt 5 at 8:30 PM. Way to go for someone who just had 500 bucks in her wallet, on a payday, with her ATM at home.

We dined at Lorenzo’s Way, which is located at Greenbelt 5. It is the newest addition to the company’s chain of restaurants. Please do visit and try the delicious food served there.

We had our orders and there were 9 of us at the table. While waiting, we had our photos taken. Still a bit withdrawn, I kept silent and asked the food attendant if they had wi-fi (because I gave up on guessing the right pw, LOL). I just wouldn’t reach out to them right?

Until I heard someone say that this was the first time that I went out and had dinner with them, when, surprisingly, it was also the first time that they did this.

And true to Wendyl’s words via Plurk, “Maybe you can let loose later…” I loosened up that night. The sensitive, I-only-choose-people-I-talk-to Spin at the office, had to converse with people whom she isn’t sure yet if they weren’t wearing masks that night. Truthfully, I had fun, I enjoyed their company. Maybe joining them wasn’t such a bad idea. :)

The bunch

Please find the two newbies
